About Me

About me...

Hi, I'm Helen. I'm a mum of 7 wonderful children and I work as a Paramedic. Through the support of my amazing family, I have also been able to pursue my passion of working in the birth world.

My journey into birth support began back in 2013 when I was pregnant with my eldest child and I came to realise the importance of my husband and I being informed and empowered as expectant parents.

Over the years, my family and my interest in the birth world have both grown dramatically. In 2018, I trained through the University of Worcester with the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) and now work as an Antenatal Practitioner and a Breastfeeding Counsellor. I have also trained as a Hypnobirthing Instructor with The Little Birth Company, a Three Step Rewind Practitioner with Birthing Awareness, and a birth and postnatal doula with Developing Doulas.

I have experienced 7 unique births of my own, some which went as planned and others which took a different path.

I feel fortunate to look back on all my experiences with overwhelming positivity. My passion is to support people as they navigate pregnancy and prepare for their own birthing and early parenting experiences.

My wish is for everyone to have access to the support they need to feel informed and empowered as they move forwards towards parenthood.  I believe that everyone has the right to understand the choices and decisions which are theirs to make. Through my courses, I look to inform expectant and new parents so that they can feel empowered to navigate pregnancy, birth, early parenthood and feeding their babies whilst also feeling supported and positive.

I place families at the centre of all my services.  What is right for one person may not be right for another, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to pregnancy, birth, parenting and feeding your baby. Throughout all my work, I seek to know clients as individuals, to understand what is important to them and how to support them to achieve their goals.

As an add-on to my birth services, and as a nod to my Paramedic registration, I am proud to be a First Aid trainer, following the First Aid 4 All course syllabus. It is my belief that all parents should have first aid training, and my absolute privilege to be able to offer this to those who need it.
