IBCLC Breastfeeding Support and Tongue Tie

Breastfeeding, Infant Feeding

and Tongue Tie Support

A woman with dark hair, wearing a pink, unbuttoned blouse, is sat on a wooden seat looking down smiling at her breastfeeding baby. A man with dark hair and a beard looks on from one side smiling. The baby is dressed in a shirt and trousers and is viewed from behind as he feeds.

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), as well as a university qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor with the National Childbirth Trust (NCT).  I also have lived experience of breastfeeding my own 7 children.

The path to successful breastfeeding can be a challenging experience for mothers and babies alike, and support is so often the missing link which prevents mothers from meeting their breastfeeding goals.

As an IBCLC, I hold the highest level of professional qualification in breastfeeding support.  Knowledge isn't everything though, which is why I am equally proud to be a university-qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor.  My combined skill set means I will first listen to your story, creating the space for you to explore your experiences, challenges and goals around feeding your baby. Where relevant, I will share evidence-based information and helpful tips and techniques to help you to achieve your feeding goals, whether you wish to give your baby breastmilk, formula milk, or some combination of the two.

As part of my consultation fee, I am trained to assess and diagnose tongue tie.  I work with local GP, Dr Hannah Murphy, to provide tongue tie division (frenulotomy) services.  For more information about our Tongue Tie services, please click here
